Who Are We?

Alzheimers New Zealand Incorporated is a charitable organisation with 23 Alzheimers member organisations located throughout the country. These member organisations provide support, information and services appropriate to their local community. To become a member of your local organisation contact them on toll-free 0800 004001.

Alzheimers New Zealand National Office supports the work of the member organisations and at a national level represents people with dementia, their carers and families, through advocacy, raising public awareness and providing information.

The goals of Alzheimers New Zealand National Office are:

To provide information and promote high standards of education for people with dementia, their carers and families and health professionals
To provide national advocacy, and raise government awareness of the needs of people with dementia and their carers
To provide support to all member organisations and encourage activities within and between organisations
To honour the Treaty of Waitangi by developing a working relationship with Maori people in the provision of dementia services

International Affiliation

Alzheimers New Zealand is proud to be a member of Alzheimers Disease International (ADI). The key role of ADI is to build and strengthen Alzheimer associations throughout the world, so they are better able to meet the needs of people with dementia and their families.
