We provide a range of support services to support people living with dementia mate wareware and their whānau in Whanganui, Rangitīkei and Waimarino.
Dementia Navigation
Group Activities
Meaningful group activities and community outings for people with dementia offering cognitive stimulation, light physical exercise, social connection and brain health support. Our groups are currently available in Whanganui and Marton.
While participants are at group activities, carers and whānau benefit from much-needed respite.
Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST)
An evidenced-based group programme for individuals with mild to moderate dementia, using engaging activities to support brain health.
CST is run over 7 weeks and participants get the most benefit when attending all 14 sessions.
Weekly Maintenance CST sessions are available for participants upon completion of CST.
Education Sessions
Educational programmes to support carers and whānau with practical knowledge for your dementia journey.
Building community awareness and reducing stigma by promoting brain health and deepening understanding of dementia/ mate wareware.

A donation made as a gift ‘in memory of’, is a lovely way to honour and celebrate someone’s life, while helping us to support people living with dementia. You may want to ask for donations to Alzheimers NZ in lieu of flowers at a funeral.
