Alzheimers Wanganui
Alzheimers Wanganui supports people with dementia and their families in the Wanganui, Rangitikei and Waimarino regions. Services provided include:
- Information
- Assistance in accessing health providers to obtain all the services and assistance to which they are entitled
- Individual support
- Home visits as requested
- Support through follow up meetings
- Educational courses and a lending library of resources to enable carers to understand the nature of the disease and to learn coping strategies
- Social gatherings for both the person with dementia and the family carers
- Information and education to the general community and to rest homes as requested
Our Rural Community Co-ordinator travels regularly to Marton, Raetihi, Ohakune, Taihape, Hunterville, Bulls and can be contacted on 0800 004 001.
