Alzheimers South Canterbury
Alzheimers South Canterbury provides support and education to the people of South Canterbury affected by dementia.
Our services include:
- Monthly support groups held in Timaru, Waimate and Geraldine
- Home visits and telephone support by the Community Liaison Officer
- Providing education by way of written material and seminars
- Referral to appropriate agencies
- ID bracelets
- Total mobility taxi vouchers
- Social events
- Quarterly newsletters
- Extensive library of books and DVDs
- Advocacy
- Monthly walking group and coffee group
People can contact us directly or referrals can be made through your general practitioner, community agencies and Timaru Hospital. Membership to Alzheimers South Canterbury is just $20.00 per annum and entitles members to receive our newsletters and access to our library.
