Alzheimers New Zealand produces information sheets, brochures and booklets for people with dementia, their carers and families. To receive any of the resources listed below contact your local Alzheimers member organisation or email nationaloffice@alzheimers.org.nz. You may also use our resource orderform.

This is a valuable resource for people with dementia, their carers and families who are considering long-term residential care.

The Dementia Booklet The Dementia Booklet
This booklet is for caregivers and family of those affected by dementia. It covers a number of topics including what is dementia, care practices, coping strategies and relief services.
It is available from Alzheimers New Zealand National Office and all member organisations at a cost of $5.

Just for You booklet Just for you booklet
This booklet is for the person diagnosed with dementia and covers key areas that the person with dementia might be worrying about. It can be purchased for $5 from Alzheimers New Zealand National Office or any Alzheimers member organisation. It can also be downloaded here (PDF - 350kb.).

Personal Care booklet Personal Care booklet
This book is about the person with dementia, written by a close family member. It covers areas such as personal history, interests and medical information and allows the person with dementia to be cared for by people other than yourself when required. The new carer is able to use this book to gain a better understanding of the person with dementia, and will glean conversation topics to help put the person at ease.
This book can be purchased from Alzheimers New Zealand National Office or any Alzheimers member organisation for $8.00.

What is Dementia? What is dementia?
This brochure is available in English and gives a brief introduction into what dementia is, the common symptoms of dementia and what should be done if you are concerned about someone you know.

Dementia Rack card Personal Care booklet
The dementia rack cards are available in Maori, Samoan and Tongan. The cards briefly explain what dementia is, who it affects and where you can go for more help.
