Reuben Thorne joined in Alzhiemers Otago's Memory Walk in Dunedin on World Alzheimers Day, 21 September 2014, alongside his announcement as the second champion for dementia.
Pictured above, Reuben stands next to Alzheimers NZ Executive Director Catherine Hall, in front of the Inflatable Brain, which serves as a virtual tour of different areas of the brain and how they are affected by certain conditions or injuries.
Reuben was introduced to dementia through a friend who works in the dementia sector, and wishes to help spread the message to New Zealanders, about the reality of dementia, and how to reduce their risk by leading a healthy lifestyle.
TV One News was there to capture the walk and Reubens presence. Click below to watch the news clip.
The Otago Daily Times also covered the walk, and Stuff covered the announcement of Reuben as a Champion for Dementia.
