Alzheimers NZ has written to each political party seeking information about their policy and plans to respond to the challenge that dementia presents.
Dementia is one of New Zealand’s most significant and growing healthcare challenges. There is a lot to be done if we are to meet this challenge, and the solutions are both large and complex. Working together collectively as a sector is critical if we are to address this challenge and improve the lives of people affected by dementia. Urgent action is needed:
And, as we have done in so many other fields, showing that we have both the heart and capacity to take a leadership role in responding to the challenge that dementia presents.
We have asked each party to provide information about their policy and plans in response to the following questions:
