Alzheimers New Zealand has developed a website to share the personal stories and poems of people who have been affected by dementia in some way. You can also submit your own writing to this website, go to: http://facesofdementia.alzheimers.org.nz

Carers New Zealand provides a website for New Zealanders who provide care at home for sick, frail, elderly, disabled or injured family members and whanau - www.carers.net.nz. 

The Residential Care Line provides information for people aged 65 years and over, their family/whanau, or carers who are considering rest home or long stay hospital care - www.adhb.govt.nz/rcline.

Eldernet provides information about services that are available for older people. The site includes a database directory of New Zealand rest homes, residential care, retirement villages, home help, community groups, public hospitals and other services - www.eldernet.co.nz.

Healthpages is New Zealand's largest online health directory - www.healthpages.co.nz.

Alzheimers New Zealand Charitable Trust was established in 2004 to receive and allocate grants for dementia research purposes. It is the only national trust in New Zealand solely dedicated to promoting and supporting dementia research. - www.alzheimersresearch.org.nz

Skylight New Zealand is a not-for-profit organisation which supports children and families through change, loss, trauma and grief.  Their new website was launched last month and includes a grief blog, downloads and new resources.  Please visit www.skylight.org.nz.  Skylight also has an online shop with a resources section for young people coping with Alzheimer’s disease.  Please click on this link to be directed there.

Alzheimer's Association America website gives a tour of the brain showing a basic healthy brain first then moving through the stages of Alzheimers showing the effects of the disease on the physical brain structure - www.alz.org/brain/01.asp

Richard Taylor is an American living with dementia. He regularly produces a newsletter focusing on the day to day challenges people with dementia face and often speaks out about the advice medical professionals give to caregivers regarding activities for people with dementia. I CAN! I WILL! is a library of ideas to help people around the world stand up and speak out about Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
