2015 World Alzheimer's Month

2015 World Alzheimer's Month

September is World Alzheimer's Month, which is a global event to raise awareness about dementia, remember those affected and help reduce the stigma associated with it.

The month officially kicked off with the 26 August release of the 2015 World Alzheimer Report, which contains up-to-date data on the prevalence of dementia and its global economic impact.

At Alzheimers NZ, we were delighted to be hosting an event on 26 August, alongside Bupa, to coincide with the report's release. The event will be an opportunity to present some of the report's findings and introduce our Third Champion for Dementia, Kerry Prendergast.

As part of Alzheimers NZ's nationwide campaign to raise awareness about dementia, we held 21 Memory Walks across New Zealand, and hosted other events.
