Alzheimers Wanganui
Alzheimers Society Wanganui supports people with dementia and their families in Wanganui, Rangitikei and Waimarino region. Services provided include:
- Information
- Assistance in accessing health providers to obtain all the services and assistance to which they are entitled,
- Individual support at the Centre,
- Home visits as requested,
- Support through follow up meetings,
- Educational courses and a lending library of resources to enable Carers to understand the nature of the disease and to learn coping strategies,
- Social gatherings for both the person with dementia and the family Carers,
- Information and education to the general community and to rest homes as requested.
Our Rural Community Co-ordinator travels regularly to Marton, Raetihi, Ohakune, Taihape, Hunterville, Bulls and can be contacted on 0800 004 001.
