Alzheimers Hastings
Alzheimers Hastings provides a range of practical and emotional support, advice and information for people affected by memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease, or any other form of dementia. We support people with the disease as well as their family, whānau and carers in Hastings and Central Hawke’s Bay. We also provide information to the wider local community and advocate on behalf of people affected by dementia. Our services include home visits by community liaison officers, support groups for people with dementia and their carers, education courses and our Chatham Day Club for people with dementia.
We work closely with GPs, health professionals and other community groups to make our services available to people affected by dementia and their families. We also organise events and initiatives aimed at generally increasing community awareness such as our Awareness Week which will be held from 9-15 of May this year, and World Alzheimer’s Day, 21 September 2011, as well as local events.
