Around 70,000 Kiwis are living with dementia mate wareware today and that’s expected to reach a staggering 170,000 by 2050. According to a recent survey, more than 80% of us know or have known someone with dementia mate wareware.
How you can help
Your donation can make a big difference nationally and locally, to people with dementia mate wareware and their whānau. It will help us to:
- Provide vital, up-to-date information and resources
- Educate people on living well with dementia mate wareware
- Raise awareness and reduce the stigma of dementia mate wareware
- Stand up for the rights and needs of people with dementia mate wareware
- Provide practical support to people with dementia mate wareware, through our network of local Alzheimers organisations

A gift 'In memory of'
A donation made as a gift ‘in memory of’, is a lovely way to honour and celebrate someone’s life, while helping us to support people living with dementia mate wareware. You may want to ask for donations to Alzheimers NZ in lieu of flowers at a funeral.
You can also make donations in honour of your loved one or friend with dementia mate wareware, or give in celebration of an event like a wedding. As an example, in lieu of gifts at a wedding, a couple asked for donations to be given to Alzheimers NZ and each guest was honoured with a card.
